Machine Gun Photo Story

Bang! Bang! Bang! The stuttering and explosive noise from the speakers was like a machine gun firing in the giant room with us. Big black speakers were hiding in the blackened ceiling. “We need more ammo!” screamed the speakers as the firing stopped. The soldiers statue was massive and so life like. A big dirty white belt with small bits of metal and bullets were attached  to the gun. On a big plaque it said that the guns could fire out 500 rounds of bullets a minute. The giant gun had a huge metal cylinder to put water in to cool the gun barrel. This gun  had inch thick steel plates surrounding the gun so the man shooting it couldn't get shot.  By Dylan

Dylan - the Gallipoli exhibition

As we walked through the door, the lights went dim and glowing red lights appeared. We walked in a big round room and there it was a massive man. He was made out of a latex skin and plastic skeleton and wax filling him up so he looked real. He was holding a big hand gun in one hand as he lay on the ground behind a small muddy hill, to take cover from enemy bullets.     By Dylan

Movie making at Capital E

We walked up some colorful stairs and into a big green room. We sat on some couches and talked to Kit about how the movie was going to work and who was doing what part.
He said that we had an hour to practice and dress up. In the dressing up room I found a jacket with a crocodile skin color, a strip down the middle to hide the zip and a strip around the wrist. I also got a cool hat. After that I got my words and did some practicing. I was doing the bit about technology in war. It had bits about machine guns, planes, tanks and gas bombs. It was so cool.
“It is time for the dress rehearsal,” said Kit.
“What!” It only felt like 5 minutes!
We lined up at the door. Brooke went first, then Lauren, Jackson, Tyler … then it was my turn. My goal was to talk clearly and look at the camera. On the camera screen  there were rolling words. On the computer Phinece was controlling the rolling words. She kept on going too fast then too slow and because I hadn't practised my words enough I kept on making mistakes.
I finally finished and went into the TV room with everyone else to watch the film and discuss what we should do and what not to do to make it the best move we could.
Lights! The lights turned on.
Camera!
On went the camera.
Action! Then Brooke started her part … then Lauren, Tyler, Jackson and then me. I looked at the camera. The rolling words started and off I went. I used lots of expression Phinece got the rolling words at a perfect speed this time. I read through the words. It was over way quicker than I thought.
We went in to the TV room and said our thank you’s to Kit and the camp parents.

I saved the day

Write story here: it was Johnny’s birthday and we were swimming in the creek.we swam to the bottom and caught crulies at the bottom it was so deep,it was way over my head .We saw some big cocabillys at the bottom. so we go the nets and a then we dived. down, down, down, smack .it hit the bottom. it was a a lot shallower than we thought.I came up to the surface and tocke a deep breath.I swam down to the bottom.there they were, at the bottom.4 big fat spoty cocabills.I scoped up the net.

I had caught all of them. two of them had black and brown spots and the other one had green stripes.it was so cool .We saw a big fat green frog.We dived in.I hit the bottom again .All the air rushed out of my lungs.I swan up wards despreat for air butt my foot was stuck under a rock. and i couldn’t get to the surface.Tyler jumped in and got my foot unstuck .I came to the surface of the water and i had the biggest deepest breath i had ever took. The air was so nice and cool’d. It filled my lungs and blew through my hair.Tyler came out of the water with the frog in one hand and the rock in the other.the end.
