If you believe, you can do anything and everything. Bear Gylls, the born survivor.
1
On May the 16th 1998 ,Gylls achieved his childhood dream .He climbed to the summit of Mount Everest at only 23 years old. He was the youngest person to achieved this feat at the time.
Three years later, he led a team of five in a crossing of the north Atlantic. Gylls and his team traveled in a 11 meter long inflatable boat, through big waves and giant ice burgs, in a journey from Halifax to Scotland.
In 2005 Gylls led the first team ever to attempt to para motor over remote jungle and angel falls.

How did achieve the skills to do this?
After leaving school Grylls joined the army. He hiked the Himalayan mountains. Eventually , gyills joined the Territorial Army and served as a SAS for three years. I think he liked the challenge of serving in the SAS for all of this time. While serving he learnt a lot of survival skills. He also learnt to be a good role model and to look at the positive. He learnt resilience. This is to be strong, to keep on trying and to solve problems. And even when you get knocked down you get up and try even harder. But in 1996, in Zambia, he suffered a free fall parachuting accident. He fell from 4,900m which partially crushed three vertebra. Grills came within a whisker away from been paralyzed for life. This ended his SAS career.
3
But once again he didn't give up. He went and used his skills to teach. He developed a TV show called man vs wild which gave him a new career.b He went and put him self in dangerous environments and used his skills to survive. The show has featured stunts including Grylls climbing, cliffs jumping from helicopters and eating bugs.
The show became very popular among young boys ... no ... all young people. It became so popular because it taught people how to survive in the wild if they get lost and gives people the belief that they CAN do anything.
bear Grylls ready for anything. He has dared him self to climb Everest. He dared him self to join the army. He dared him self to get lost in dangerous places to teach others.
When he believes he can do anything and everything. He is Bear Grylls; the born survivor.

Crystal Clear Waters
Splish, splash, splosh. We ran into the crystal clear waters of Rarotonga. Fish, stingrays, moray eels, turtles and sharks ... beautiful but deadly. With vicious fangs and glorious stripes it slivers ... it slides ... Zooming along the rocky bottom. Over sandy hills and through the weed and under a rock to curl up for the night.
I swam back to the beach to go to a party. The food was delicious. From coconut milk in a coconut shell to crabs served hot after being boiled in a pot. It was a great night for everyone in the resort. It was an all night party; the best fun I've ever had.
The next morning, after scoffing down a glass of coconut milk and a star fruit for breakfast, we headed to the market. Fish of all sorts, enough jewels to delight a king, fruit from the top of the volcano ... it was awesome. All the the way down lush coconut trees surrounded the beach. At the market I got a shark tooth necklace. Black string runs down to a sparkling tooth of a shark.
Then we went on a glass bottom boat. As we sped across the reef I could see the bottom through the glass. It was amazing. The colourful coral and the sandy plains all filled to the top with everything from the smallest plankton to the biggest shark. After that we snorkelled around some sandy plains near the beach off an island. It looked like the island had a clean water supply because there was a big pipe running from Rarotonga to the tiny island. We had a big lunch on the island. I went looking for coconut crabs with the driver of our boat. We went to some coconut trees near a big cliff with lots of cracks in it. Our driver climbed up the coconut tree and threw down twelve coconuts. We put them in the cracks and left to do some more snorkelling. I found a school of baby puffer fish being attacked by some fish called python fish. After that we went to check the coconuts in the cliff.
Snap Snap
“What was that," I said. I found a coconut crab. The boat driver cooked them for us. They tasted delicious. After this I went swimming with turtles. They had a lush green colour with dark stripes. It was an amazing experience. My trip to Rarotonga was exquisite.
Capital E
At capital E we made music. It was super fun to do. In my music I had drums, bass guitar, etc guitar beat boxing and electric piano. It sounded as cool as a pro. My favourite part was when the beat went slow to fast as it sounded cool when it faded. I found making the music easy and exciting. Soon I looked around me to see that we all had a great beat going. I was sitting next to Lacey and Chloe. The headphones were comfortable sitting on my ears. I listened to their beat often and it sounded cool as. I needed to remember to not put too much music on otherwise it would sound crowded.
After we had made our music we all gathered in the middle again to listen to everyones beats. My favourite beat was Hannah’s and Tyler’s ... and Mine!!! I enjoyed learning how to make music because I have always liked music. I hope we can go again.
If we go again next time I would like to make a longer more jazzier song.
I appreciated that Carl let us in his workshop to make better music using the proper equipment.

Tacodile supreme
One night I had a dream that tarko trees grow on the the top of Mount Kiermejoke. And that night an evil scientist put a super growth formula on them and the tacos fell off the tree. They mutated together and turned into tacodile supreme. That day I was playing with my lab kit when... poof. A portal formed and I got sucked in and swallowed by the dream portal. I landed in mount kilamongago.
Roar.
A great roar came from the jungle I looked through the trees... There it was tacodile supreme!

Gearing up …
Metal hooks, fishing line
Rods, reels
The ‘reel’ deal
The rocks and weed
Snagging the line
The tip of the rod bending over
The line speeding off the reel
Watching the white water
Waiting for the big fish
Behind the boat
Searching for little fish
Bait for big fish
Waiting for a bite
From a boat
Watching dolphins
Frolicking in the wide deep ocean
Wondering if the fish are still there
Or scared away
By the majestic creatures of the sea
The extreme moment
When the fish takes lure
The rush to your rod
When the fish steals the bait
And races out to sea.
Into the deep waters
Of the Tasman Sea
When the line goes tight
The cranking of each wind as you reel it in.
All the pressure pushed off you
When the fish comes ashore
And who can forget …
The delicious pan fried fillets.
